Our children’s and youth art school program is supported by the Rhineland-Palatinate state program for the promotion of youth art schools and the Kultur macht stark program of The German Federation for Arts Education and Cultural Learning.

The program of the Children’s and Youth Art School at Kunsthalle Mainz is funded by the Rhineland-Palatinate State Program for Youth Art Schools and in the program Künste öffnen Welten of the Bundesvereinigung Kulturelle Kinder- und Jugendbildung (BKJ)/Youth Education (BKJ). two-day holiday workshop
7-13 years

Let your creativity run wild and design unique figures, animals, fantasy creatures or objects from modelling clay! In this workshop, you will learn the basics of modelling and be shown tips and tricks on how to give your ideas the right shape. At the end, you will take your self-made work of art home with you.

In your birthday workshop, you and your friends will go on a journey of discovery through the Kunsthalle. Afterwards, our workroom offers plenty of space for creativity.

What do you want to do?

1 Treasure Hunt: Work together to find the treasure and design your own treasure chest.

2 Light painting: Paint with light and movement in front of the camera. The photoart will be printed directly to take home.

3 Print Workshop: Design your own stamps or print with unusual materials, fabric bags, t-shirts or gym bags.

4 Build, Knead, Shape: Create your own sculpture.

5 Drawing-Lab

6 Photo-Shooting: You can pose infront of the camera and bring your own photo set to life.

Appointments can only be offered during our opening hours: Wednesday-Sunday, public holidays 10am-5pm, closed Monday and Tuesday. In the period from 16/06 to 03/07 the house is closed due to remodelling for the new exhibition.
