Are you turning 18 soon, or are you already 18, and do you feel like getting creative?
The Kunsthalle Mainz is turning 18 this year and invites everyone who is the same age or turning 18 this year to get creative together.
The Open Studio is a space for experimentation—free from pressure and judgment—where you can work together, with plenty of time and space for your creativity.
We want to break away from school-style grading and constant comparison. Instead, this is a place for experimentation and trying new things. I’ll prepare a small activity for each session. We’ll go outside and make lots of quick sketches of our surroundings or try our hand at a self-portrait. In between, we’ll do short warm-up exercises every now and then. You’re more than welcome to bring your own suggestions. If you already have your own project in mind and prefer to work in a group, you’re also very welcome here.
Here you’ll learn how to leave your perfectionism behind and rediscover the joy of experimenting. The goal is to support one another and simply have a good time.
I look forward to seeing you!
